Hello Modern Teachers,

I hope that this post finds you all well in body and mind. I want you to start with an experiment in your language skills. I would like you to describe what you did this past weekend. Seems easy right? Now try to think of what you did but don’t use any words that have the letter “n.” Notice that it becomes much harder, you can no longer speak in smooth and comprehensible sentences. This is what many of our ESL (English Second Language) face every day in our classrooms. Next time you see an ESL student struggle to use the correct words, be patient and remember how frustrating it would be if the situation was reversed.  If you would like strategies to aid ESL students be sure to check the blog out later this week.
